Although Disney is “The Most Magical Happiest Place On Earth”, there are other amusement parks that are just as awesome and without the high price tag… Here’s a list of some of the “best amusement parks” that are in our own backyard.

Nestled in the hills of North Central Pennsylvania, Knoebel’s has been rated one of the Top 10 Family Friendly Amusement Parks in the Country according to the Travel Channel. Knoebel’s is one of the few parks that offer free admission, free parking and free entertainment. It also boasts The Phoenix, which has been rated as one of the Top 10 coasters in the country.

“The Sweetest Place On Earth” is not just for chocolate lovers, you can get your thrill on over 70 rides, 15 are roller coasters. Before you go in the park, check out Hershey’s Chocolate World to learn everything about Milton Hershey and how chocolate is made.
Busch Gardens in Williamsburg, VA

It may be in Virginia, but when you’re in Busch Gardens, you’ll feel like you’re on a trip through Europe as the park is separated into different countries. You could ride the Roman Rapids in Italy, soar on the Loch Ness Monster in Scotland or celebrate Oktoberfest in Germany all in one place.

Have to put this on list from my hometown. Dorney Park features some of the best roller coasters in the country, including Steel Force, the ninth longest steel coaster in the world. Plus there’s Wildwater Kingdom, one of America’s largest water parks to cool you off in the Summer.
