One of the greatest TV Shows of the 1990’s, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air put West Philadelphia on the map. The Theme song and opening sequence sets the tone of the show. A young teenager (Will Smith) gets into a dispute with local gang members after he accidentally hits them with a basketball. The aftermath has his mother scared for him. So, she sends him to live with relatives in Bel-air California.
Will a city kid tries to fit in with his upper-class family and comedy ensues.
The show features Will Smith and his partner DJ Jazzy Jeff both born and raised in Philadelphia.
