The Women of 6abc Get Real with Andie Summers
Anyone can ask these strong, talented women about their new show. Only Andie would ask these questions. Listen as the women of 6abc get real with our own Andie Summers:
ABC announced some changes to their daytime line-up last week, and the changes took place today. A new all-female newscast will slide into the 10 o’clock spot. Tamron Hall, who saw major success at that time, moves to 2 pm.
Other markets seeing changes are ABC7 in New York and ABC11 in Raleigh-Durham.
The new Philly news team at 10 includes anchors Alicia Vitarelli (who we learned loves to dance!), Alyana Gomez, and Nydia Han. Our good friend (and huge country music fan) meteorologist Karen Rogers expands her duties to join the team with AccuWeather forecasts.
About the Hosts:
Karen Rogers
Karen Rogers has been with 6abc since 1996. She grew up in New Jersey and grew up watching 6abc. Karen graduated with honors from Rutgers University in South Brunswick. She was her class valedictorian and spoke at commencement. Karen is listed in “Who’s Who Among American Colleges and Universities.”
Nydia Han
Nydia Han is 6abc’s go-to for just about everything. She is the Consumer Investigative Reporter, Troubleshooter, and co-anchor of Action News Sunday mornings, and most recently, Action News at 10 A.M. Nydia created the documentary series, #ThisIsAmerica which gives a provocative, fresh look at who we are as Americans.
Alicia Vitarelli
Alicia Vitarelli joined the Action News team in October 2010. Since then she traveled to cover the Royal Wedding, the beatification of Pope John Paul II at the Vatican, the Oscars, the CMA Awards, and Dancing with the Stars. Even though she interviewed many Hollywood A-listers for her daily segments on Action News, Alicia admits to being a little star-struck while interviewing Tom Hanks. One of the things Alicia loves about working at 6abc is the Action News Big Board. She is able to incorporate social media into her newscast making viewers part of the conversation, and part of the storytelling.
Alyana Gomez
Alyana Gomez is the newest member of the 6abc team joining Action News in February 2022. She was born in Philadelphia and raised in Collingswood, New Jersey. She is one of us and excited to share the desk with this amazing team of women.

5 Positive Eagles Takeaways From Week 1
5 Positive Eagles Takeaways From Week 1!
The Eagles kicked off the 2023 season yesterday against the New England Patriots. It was odd to me that the Super Bowl runner-up was playing an away game for their first game but oh well. Last season ended in heartbreak as the Kansas City Chiefs beat our beloved Birds to win the Lombardi Trophy. This season, it’s an Eagles revenge tour.
As a die-hard Eagles fan for as long as I can remember, I have seen many ups and downs. Losing last year’s Super Bowl was a top 5 heartbreak moment in my Eagles fandom career. Us Eagles fans always focus on a lot of the negative things… The reason is because we have had our hearts broken so many times in the past. From losing the Super Bowl in 1980 to the 3 straight NFC Championship losses…(I am still not over losing to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers or the Carolina Panthers in the NFC Championship. We could have definitely beaten the Oakland Raiders in the Super Bowl in 2002/2003.) Losing to the Arizona Cardinals in the NFC Championship while being favorites was also tough. But then we have 2017 which made all of those previous wounds immediately heal.
Doesn’t it feel good to have a Super Bowl championship under our belts? Now, we can stop hearing Cowboys fans, Washington fans, and Giant fans saying we are ringless!
Moving forward… The Eagles are favored to win the NFC this year and head back to the Super Bowl. The offense will look basically the same even though we have a new offensive coordinator. We lost a starting O-Lineman to free agency and our running back room is completely different but other than that, it’s the same.
The defense on the other hand will look different. Our young guys need to step up this year (especially at the linebacker position) and our safeties need to play above their potential. We have a new defensive coordinator as well but I don’t see a ton of change in scheme this year.
I am going to put together the 5 positive Eagles takeaways each week. I will not focus on the negative because you can get that stuff everywhere else.
Let’s stay positive here!
