Lainey Wilson Talks GRAMMY Nods: ‘Surreal Feeling’
Lainey Wilson is a first-time GRAMMY nominee. As the big awards show approaches, she answered some questions about the GRAMMYs Sunday (2/4) and posted them to her Instagram.
Lainey is a GRAMMY nominee in the Best Country Album category for Bell Bottom Country and in the Best Country Duo/Group Performance for “Save Me” with Jelly Roll.
In the video clip, which was also posted to GRAMMY’s Instagram account, Wilson says of when she heard about her nominations, “When the GRAMMY nominations came out, it was a few days after the CMA Awards, which was a pretty big night for us, so we were already on cloud nine. I was at my house in Nashville, one of the few nights I was there in 2023, and I was with my mama, my daddy, and my manager, Madelyn.”
She added, “Just being able to have them there for such a special moment. It was already something to be grateful for. When the nomination came out and I heard them mention my name, it was a surreal feeling.”

In the same video clip, Lainey also talked about being nominated with her friend, Jelly Roll, for their performance on “Save Me.” She gushed, “I could not be happier to be nominated with my brother, Jelly Roll. We have had such a whirlwind of a year, and we truly care about each other. This song is such a testament to helping people not feel alone. I’m very proud to be nominated for a song that means so much to so many people.”
The 66th Annual GRAMMY Awards will be broadcast live on Sunday, February 4, at 8 PM. ET/5 p.m. PT on CBS.
Wilson also did an interview recently with Glamour magazine. In the new article, she said she is ready to work with Miley Cyrus. In her teens, Lainey worked as a Hannah Montana impersonator. She told the publication, “At some point in time, me and Miley Cyrus have to work together.”
Wilson added of her Hannah Montana impersonating days, “I would do four or five birthday parties a weekend. Sometimes I would open up as Lainey Wilson, and then I’d run backstage and change into my Hannah Montana wig and do my 15-song karaoke show.”
