Pennsylvania Town Makes List of Best Cities for Naked Gardening.  That could be the greatest headline ever!

How is Naked Gardening a thing?  Well, it is and it even has its own holiday. We all know May 4th is Star Wars Day, May 5th is Cinco de Mayo, and of course May 6th is Naked Gardening Day. Duh! Who didn’t know that?

Apparently there are so many people who like to work in their yards in their birthday suits that there’s a whole day to celebrate it! Of course, some locations are better suited to this hobby than others and a new report reveals where those are.

NationalToday.com defines World Naked Gardening Day as an event celebrated on the first Saturday of May of every year, and this year, it takes place on May 6. Gardeners from all over the world get together to attend to their plants and flowers wearing no clothes or shoes. This way, they’re able to connect to the origins of gardening and our natural relationship with Mother Nature.

Lawnstarter has just come out with their list of 2023’s Best Cities for Naked Gardening. I find this hysterical not just because it’s literally naked gardening but that they have done this poll many times if this is their 2023 list.  They compared the 200 biggest cities in the U.S. on factors including nudist population size, indecent exposure laws, weather forecasts, sex offender listings and even access to waxing salons.

Wouldn’t gardening outside naked get you in trouble with the police?  Isn’t that Public Nudity or Indecent Exposure?  It has to be against some type of law.

A month ago, I posted a list of the best nude beaches in the United States.  I guess I am on a nude kick but I just thought it was shocking that these types of things exist in the US.  Doesn’t this seem more like a European thing?

Check out the Best Cities For Naked Gardening Below. You might be shocked to see what came in at #4!

  • 10. Raleigh, North Carolina

Coming in at #10 is the capital of North Carolina.

  • 9. Houston, Texas

I will say you better use extra sunscreen if you plan on gardening naked in Houston.

  • 8. Seattle, Washington

Seattle is known for their copious amounts of rain which can be very good for plant-life.  Make sure you have a towel if you plan on gardening naked in Washington.

  • 7. Pasadena, California

Pasadena is known for the Rose Bowl and for roses in general so I guess this fits. Plant some roses in the nude!

  • 6. Orange, California

At first, I think it said Orange County which would make more sense to me since it’s a super beachy town. Nope. This is Orange, California… A small town in Southern Cal.  It is a very historic town so maybe the landscapers for the historic buildings mow the lawns in the nude?  Just weird.

  • 5. Los Angeles, California

Can you imagine someone naked gardening on Rodeo Drive?  Here is another place where you need to watch out for the sun and for the police.

  • 4. Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Wait, really?  Where are people gardening in the nude?  The Convention Center lawn?  This doesn’t seem right but hey at least we made a list for some sort of Best City!

  • 3. Atlanta, Georgia

Another state capital makes the list and another very hot city.  SPF 50 if you plan on nude gardening! This makes the term Georgia Peaches a little more relevant, right?

  • 2. Austin, Texas

The 3rd state capital to make the list and another super hot city.  Watch out for cactuses! (Do they have cactuses or cacti there?)

  • 1. Miami, Florida

Okay, Miami coming in at #1 makes sense.  When I think of Miami, I think of beaches and people wearing next to nothing.  Garden away my friends!
