3 Philadelphia Spots Celebrating Phillies With Their Own Dollar Dog Nights
We all know that the Phillies have officially cancelled Dollar Dog Night and no one is happy about it. We’re not here to start the “we can’t have nice things” conversation. Instead, we’re here to celebrate local spots are doing nice things. They are hosting their own Dollar Dog Nights for Phillies Fans!
Let’s be realistic, the Phils were in a tough place with the Dollar Dog Night debacles. Meaty tin foil missiles flying across sections, long lines, and national embarrassment. During the 2024 promotional announcement, the team announced that they would be hosting two Hatfield Phillies Franks BOGO Nights. Those will happen on April 2nd vs Cincinnati Reds and April 16th vs Colorado Rockies. During the BOGO Nights, fans can buy two hot dogs for the price of one at concession stands. Point made.
The Preston & Steve Show was recently joined by Crossing Broad contributor, Kyle Pagan. He has a long history with the Dollar Dog Night Promotion. In 2022, he started a campaign asking the team for more of these famous budget-friendly nights. There were eventually more added. Then 2023 happened.
In March of 2024, Kyle is already predicting that the BOGO deal is a problematic solution. He also makes a good point that the team has to cover the cost of the Bryce Harper extension somehow….
Back to positivity though! Phillies fans will not be able to purchase dogs for $1 at Citizens Bank Park, but you can get them here:
Juana Tamale
The South Philadelphia joint stepped up immediately by offering fans $1 hot dogs during all Phillies home games starting with opening day on March 28th. The promotion will begin two hours before the first pitch on days that they are open (Wednesday – Sunday) Conveniently, they are three subway stops away from the stadium or a nice 35 minute walk down Broad St.
Ketchup, mustard, relish are free, but for an additional charge add toppings such as bean chili, cheese. and onion relish. The restaurant is working on a vegan option too. Limit: 20 dogs per person.
Evil Genius Brewery:
Evil Genius Brewery is hosting a Phillies Opening Day Party on March 28th. Their announcement reads “As long as we’re around we won’t let Dollar Dogs go anywhere.” The Opening Day bash will be hosted at their Fishtown taproom with dollar dogs and the game on the big screen.
Shake Shack: University City, Center City & Midtown Village locations
Even this New York based company with locations around the world has heard our complaints. They are “stepping up to the plate” by offering dollar dogs on Thursday, March 28, Tuesday, April 2 and Tuesday, April 16 at select locations. A 4 dog limit will be in place.
