Jeff’s Daddy Diary Day Two, Night Time Wake Ups
Jeff Kurkjian of The Andie Summers Show has been doing “Jeff’s Daddy Diary” not for his real baby (due August 4th) but for the Maybe Baby that is training him to become a father.
If you missed his FIRST Daddy Diary, here’s a recap below.
Fake Baby For School
We paired up with our friends at Collegium Charter School to help Jeff out. He’s expecting his very first baby on August 4th so we wanted to make sure he was ready.
Meet “Maybe” the baby!!

Watch some pieces of Jeff’s day here, what an adventure it was. It included multiple doctor appointments (including a baby doctor), some water ice and a VERY late night.
Jeff In His Own Words Day Two
Daddy Diary Day TWO and this was a long day for sure. It started with having to go to physical therapy for an issue I’ve had with my foot for quite some time. And of course, Maybe had to come with me.
My therapist is a big fan of 92.5 XTU and she’s been listening so she totally understood what I needed to do but all the other people in the office, not so much. The baby lost its mind in the middle of my physical therapy. Had to be paid attention to and changed twice in the matter of about 45 minutes. GREAT timing Maybe.
Drove home while on a meeting with the rest of the show only to have the baby cry WHILE DRIVING. That was the first time that it happened for me. Very loud and very uncomfortable but had to stick through it like every parent does.
Quick lunch at home and right back to the hospital for Emily’s baby doctor appointment… with a fake baby. Man it was hilarious having to tell every mom or expecting mother that in the stroller is a fake baby lol
We made it through that. Back home for a much needed nap after last night’s late night. Dinner at home then Rita’s for dessert. The baby was SO GOOD from dinner to Rita’s and even while going to bed which meant it was going to be a rough night.
I went to bed at 9pm (with a 3:30am wake up call), the baby woke me up five times from 9:30-10:30pm, then again at 11:45pm, 12:15am, ten minutes apart at 1:30am and again twice at 2:30am.
It’s safe to say that it was a tough night.
I learned a lot from this experience. When a baby is crying, it’s important to be calm. As silly as it sounds, when reaching for these keys to find the right one, if you fumble them, or forget which ones you tried, it gets more stressful. It’s important to remain calm and that goes for REAL babies too. They feel your stress.
I’ve never had MORE respect for parents then I do right now. The night time wake ups are no joke. I am still really looking forward to becoming a father but now feel MORE prepared for the challenge!
