Travis Kelce Thinks That Jason Kelce Will Play Next Season
One of the big questions for the Eagles this off-season has been whether Jason Kelce will retire or not. Adam Schefter originally reported that he planned to retire. But then Jason Kelce himself took to his podcast to pump the breaks on that discussion. He told us that he would announce the decision himself when he is ready to, and he wouldn’t let it drag on for too long. But he hasn’t given us any updates since. His brother Travis has been less shy about it though. And at Super Bowl Opening Night, he was asked about his brother, and if he thinks Jason will play in Brazil next season.
“I think so. I don’t know. I’m not a betting man, but I think he’s got some football left in him”
It is not the first time he said that he thinks Jason has more football left in him. That may just be his default answer at this point. But does he actually believe it? It is hard to tell.
Almost everything else is pointing to him retiring. His documentary made it very clear how big of a deal coming back next season was for him. And the general feeling all season has been that it was his last season. But Eagles fans will likely take any glimmer of hope they can get. Kelce is not just one of the greatest Eagles of all time, but one of the greatest Centers period. He is a 6-time All-Pro and revolutionized the way Center is played. Now instead of looking for huge guys who will be a brick wall, teams want the smaller more agile centers like Kelce.
We will have to wait for word from Jason himself before we have our answer. But Travis Kelce has been clear that he thinks Jason will be back.
