The Alliance for Women in Media held their annual Gracies Awards luncheon in New York City where they honored and celebrated women in media. Our own Andie Summers received a Gracie for her exemplary work on air promoting women in Country Music as well as celebrating the efforts and accomplishments of her listeners.
According to allwomeninmedia.org:
The Gracie Awards recognize exemplary programming created by women, for women, and about women in all facets of media and entertainment.
The award is named after the great Gracie Allen; a comedian who gained international fame through her grace, her wit, and her impeccable timing. Gracie was the wife and comedic partner of George Burns.
The Gracie Awards shine a spotlight on women who are making positive change and who further the discussion of what a fulfilling career in media looks like.
The event was hosted by Hannah Storm, phenom ESPN personality as well as six-time Gracie winner.
Andie attended the luncheon with her family; husband Leonard, daughter Tori, and son Leonard (the third). Also in attendance were BBGI CFO Marie Tedesco, BBGI General Counsel Joyce Fitch, BBGI Philadelphia Market Manager Joe Bell, Director of Sales Paul Blake, Sales Manager Rob Keegan, 92.5 XTU Program Director Mark Razz, The Andie Summers Show producer Donnie Black and his wife Michelle, as well as XTU Promotions Coordinator Kara Lester.
