New Jersey Senior Prank Investigated, Students Suspended
New Jersey senior prank investigated, students suspended.
One New Jersey school was forced to suspend students for their part in a senior prank after parents complained. The best part is that school officials were cool with it. What do you think?
Senior pranks happen in just about every school all over the country. Some are harmless, others not so much, but a recent prank pulled off by seniors at one New Jersey high school is raising some eyebrows for a couple different reasons.
First, once the prank was pulled, people on social media were in an uproar claiming the students should be punished, and perhaps not even graduate, because of the gravity of the stunt. Meanwhile, the principal seemed to laugh it off, and her board agreed. The students came back and cleaned up their mess, so no harm no foul, right? Not so fast.
Kate Romeo, the President of the Board of Education said, according to MSN:
I can assure you the Board is taking the situation seriously. The Board has requested a full investigation and report and has the administration’s full cooperation.”
After backlash from the public, the principal decided to assign in-school suspension for the students identified in a video that was posted on TikTok (it’s since been deleted). The suspension is for three days, and the students are allowed to bring their technology with them.
This mama has to chime in here. My daughter is 15 years old and she spends 99.9% of her time in her room and on her phone or computer. If she were “punished” with this suspension, all it would mean for her is prying herself out of bed and doing what she does best at a desk instead of the comfort of her bedroom. I applaud the principal of West Milford high school for acknowledging that this is something that happens every year and kids will be kids.
