2023 World Series
The Phillies are taking on the Arizona Diamondbacks in the National League Championship Series starting Monday, October 16th at home. They have home-field advantage after just defeating the number one-seeded Atlanta Braves in four games of the National League Division Series. With a seven-game series, this means that the first two and last two games will be held in Philadelphia with the middle three being played in Arizona.
Why Do We Want To Play The Houston Astros?
Now fans might be saying, “NO we hate the Astros, let’s play the Rangers.” Not to mention that the Astros won their division, the Rangers did not. So why would want to play a “better” team in the World Series? I will tell you why.
If the Phillies play the Texas Rangers, they will NOT have home-field advantage. Meaning, that Texas would host the first two and last two games of the seven-game World Series with Philadelphia hosting the middle three.
If the Phillies play the Astros, they WILL have home-field advantage. The Phillies are UNDEFEATED at home this postseason and it shows because the fans are so amazing. In fact, for qualifying teams, the Phillies have the best home postseason winning percentage in Major League Baseball. It is true, home field advantage is a HUGE advantage!
