Jeff’s Dad ESPN’s Tim Kurkjian Joins To Talk Phillies Wild Card
It is offically Red October and the Phillies are in the playoffs! Jeff’s dad, Tim Kurkjian, joined us to chat about what he thinks this postseason looks like for the Phillies including breaking down the matchup against the Miami Marlins.
We talked to him on The Andie Summers Show!
Tim Kurkjian was honored last year at the National Baseball Hall of Fame where he wont the BBWAA Career Excellence Award and will be permanently enshrined in Cooperstown, New York. He has been covering baseball for 45 years and spent the last 25 years with ESPN.
He will be covering the Tampa Bay Rays, Texas Rangers Wild Card round on ABC during the week.
Phillies Red October
The Phillies occupy the top spot of the Wild Card in the National League. After a very exciting end to the regular season, Philadelphia will be taking on the Miami Marlins in the 4-seed, 5-seed matchup.
You can make a prediciton of you think will win it all on the MLB Bracket Challenge!
The Marins are a division rival and if the Phillies are able to take them down in this three game series, then they will face the Atlanta Braves, another member of the National League East.
Phillies Home Games
The Phillies will host the Wild Card round (which is best of three) and all the games will be at home, which is incredible. Last year, they didn’t have the same advantage and still made it to the World Series! Insane. Love this team.
The Wild Card round is followed by the National Leauge Division Series which is five games and then the National League Championship Series, that’s seven games. The World Series will also be seven games!
