Brunch With Brian: Honey’s Sit N Eat
This is one of my go to places in more ways than one. Outside of my radio duties at 925XTU, on weekends I lead the people singing at the National Shrine Of St. John Neumann at 5th & Girard.
Just a few blocks from there at the corner of 4th & Brown Street in the Northern Liberties section of Philly is a restaurant called Honey’s Sit N Eat, which is known for it’s homestyle cooking for breakfast and lunch.
Honey’s became so popular, they opened a second location on South Street in Center City.
Honey’s is always packed, they have wonderful homestyle meals for Breakfast & Lunch. At their South Street location, they have a dinner menu as well.
Their menu for breakfast and lunch is amazing, from benedicts to country fried steak and gravy, you’ll find something that’ll stick to your ribs.
The first thing I always get is their potato latke with sour cream..think of it as a cross between a potato pancake and a hash brown with cheese. I ended up getting three of them.
One of the most intriguing items on the menu is “The Breakfast Bomb”, which is a big pancake filled with eggs and your choice of “mornin’ meat” (I had turkey sausage.). Slap some syrup on and it’s a delicious combination of sweet and savory.
One thing to let you know, if you go..make sure you bring cash cause they don’t take plastic. (don’t worry, there is an ATM there.)
If you’re in Northern Liberties or on South Street, get your brunch fix at Honey’s Sit N Eat.
