Why I Run Every Day In October. Hey! Get A Mammogram.
This is my 5th year doing this. Every October I pledge to run at least one mile a day in an effort acknowledge Breast Cancer Awareness Month. 1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer. Chances are you’ve been effected. Someone in your family (for me it was my mom), someone at work (we had a couple at WXTU), someone in the neighborhood (yep, two doors down) or even a friend. Early detection is key. Find it early, you’re better able to treat it and survival rates go up. I will continue to run as long as I can or until we find a cure. I am hoping to stop running soon…Today the nice folks at PHL17 invited me on the talk with Jenna Meissner to discuss why I run…here’s our conversation:
