Action News Theme Co-Writer Dies at 78
You have this man to blame when you find yourself doing the “dun dun dun…” sound of the Action News Theme! Walter Liss, who graduated from LaSalle University and grew up in Philadelphia was co-writer of the news theme we all love to sing! “Move closer to the world my friend….” See? You’re singing it right now, aren’t you?
Well, Walter passed away this week at the age of 78. He was promotions manager at WPVI when he penned the now familiar tune. He moved on the New York to help take Live with Regis and Kathy Lee to the national level.
