Smiles for FREEdom: Free Dental Care for Local Veterans & Active Military

As a way to give back to our Veterans, all United States military veterans will receive FREE dental services at the 2nd Annual Smiles for Freedom event this August 4, 2023 at Media Dental Associates. Services being provided may include one of the following: dental cleanings, fillings or extractions. Prescreening is required to determine eligibility for treatment and will include free X-rays and an exam.

What is Smiles for Freedom?

Currently, in 16 states nationwide, Smiles for FREEdom is a 501c non-profit organization designed to provide free dental care services for veterans and active duty service members. Dental care providers including specialists, dentists, registered dental hygienists, assistants, and administrative staff volunteer their time and services to work together to provide happier and healthier smiles to those who have provided us the freedom to do so. Smiles for FREEdom was created by dental hygienist Kandice Simpkins and proudly supported by her home dental office co-owners Todd Sala DMD and Jason Sala DMD at Sala Family Dentistry in Reno, Nevada. After coordinating seven years of free dental days providing important care for the community Kandice wanted to create a day of free dentistry solely for the veterans and service members of the community that have provided so much to us. Over $2,000,000 in free dental care services have been provided since the program began in 2015.

Andie Summers Gets Personal with Craig Morgan (WATCH)

You know him for his songs like That’s What I Love About Sunday, Redneck Yacht Club, and The Father, My Son, and the Holy Ghost. You may also know that he started his adult life in the Army. Maybe you even remember his biggest tragedy, when his 19-year-old son was killed in a boating accident in 2016.

Craig Morgan seems to have lived a thousand lives, but you haven’t heard them all – yet. I had the chance to talk to Craig about his memoir, God – Family – Country and he got emotional telling me stories about his son Jerry’s death and the surprising country artists who came out to show their support; he told me about his relationships with Blake Shelton and how Garth Brooks got him to change something HUGE about himself; and he told me about a mission in Thailand where he saved children from a prostitution ring.
