New Jersey Residents Will Be Able To Get Alcohol Delivered Soon
Start spreadin’ the news….well it’s not New York news, but rather news for New Jersey residents! The news is good too! Folks who live in the Garden State will soon be able to get alcohol delivered to their door.
The fine folks at the Division of Alcoholic Beverage Control saw fit to issue a special ruling August 26th allowing third-party delivery services like DoorDash, Instacart, and Amazon Flex to deliver alcoholic beverages – including cocktails “to go” – from restaurants, bars, and liquor stores to customers’ doorsteps.
Now hang on – it’s not immediate – according to 6ABC, delivery services that want to take part are subject to an application process. As with many things in the restaurant business, you have to be certified to handle alcohol and trained on refusing delivery to anyone who is underage or visibly intoxicated.
Applications for permits will be available starting on October 1.
